Enchanted Soirée | RTW Fall 2024

The Fall 2023 ready-to-wear (RTW) collection draws inspiration from the Edwardian era and is deeply influenced by the designer's immersive experiences in Savannah during the Winter of 2023. Enthralled by the city's picturesque streets, colonial architecture, and the enchanting sight of trees draped in Spanish moss during her walks, the designer incorporates these elements into the collection.

For this collection, the designer was inspired by the time that she spent working in the Gryphon Tea Room, in Savannah, GA. It’s a gorgeous tea room, located in a 100-year building owned and operated by SCAD. The place served as a pharmacy from 1926 to 1982, and SCAD has successfully preserved most of the original elements. It feels surreal to look at all the original woodwork, the first electric clock in Savannah and the stunning lamps and stained glass. She has had a wonderful time working there during the winter break of 2023 which inspired her to explore the fashion from the Edwardian Era and the rich colonial architecture in Savannah, GA.

The design process involved collages. I tried to deconstruct images of fashion from the Edwardian Era, the gowns, blouses, bottoms and sleeves combined with the elements from colonial architecture like lamps and window panes. I played around with the dimensions and the proportions of these elements to get a variety of silhouettes ideas.
